Fun fact about flaxseed

Flaxseed is the key ingredient of bacon and cheddar cheese waffle. Here’s some historical facts which you can share with your loved ones during the breakfast.

The flax plant is one of the most diverse plants on the earth. Flax seeds are extremely healthy for our digestion because of the amount of fiber they have. Fibers that can be found in flax plants are used to produce linen. What’s more, linen is one of the oldest textile materials that exist in human civilization.

Ancient Egyptians had perfect conditions to grow flax seeds because of the climate and the Nile. They were making linen from flax seeds. People were also using linen for clothing, making fish nets and bags. Moreover, they used it as currency, and finally, they made from linen burial garments for mummies.

Tips & tricks how to make it good

  • Before warming and putting the waffle batter into the waffle maker, brush the waffle iron with a little bit of the oil (no more than ½ teaspoon of oil). This way waffles will not stick to the surface.
  • Always preheat the waffle iron. Above all never put the waffle batter into a cold or not warm enough waffle iron.
  • Do not overfill your waffle iron.

How to know when it’s done?

  • Waffles have a nice golden color, and it is very easy to remove them from the waffle maker.

Bacon and Cheddar Waffle: what can go wrong, and how to fix it:

  • Waffle stick to the waffle maker – try to remove everything from the surface of the waffle iron, and then wash the waffle iron if possible. After adding oil with a brush try again. Do not use too much oil, you need a very small amount.
  • The waffle is split into 2 pieces when the waffle maker opens – close it and wait for a few more minutes. The batter is not baked enough.
