No Allium Marry Me Meatballs recipe is a meal inspired by the viral recipe Marry Me Chicken. Instead of chicken, I made it with ground meat. And in my version, there is no Parmesan cheese, but I use delicious Swiss cheese instead. Swiss cheese works amazingly with tomato, and it elevates the delicious taste of Marry Me Meatballs sauce.

No Allium Marry Me Meatballs

I created a No Allium Marry Me Meatballs recipe one lazy Saturday afternoon. I was planning to cook my Spinach risotto recipe. But I didn’t feel like eating rice, or spinach. My craving was Marry Me Chicken sauce but without chicken. I wasn’t in the mood to eat chicken. All I could see were meatballs. I decided to pamper my food craving, and I cooked Marry Me Chicken sauce, but I swapped chicken for meatballs.

Later that day I was enjoying the delicious Marry Me Meatballs recipe. It tasted divine, and I fell in love with the taste at the first bite.

No Allium Marry Me Meatballs recipe is made without onion, garlic, and other alliums. It is a delicious recipe for all of us with allium allergy and allium intolerance. Ingredients

Ingredients for No Garlic Marry Me Meatballs From Dora's Kitchen
  • Ground meat
You can use any type of ground meat. It works perfectly with chicken, turkey, beef or pork.
  • Roma tomato
It will give a delicious sweet tomato taste to the sauce, and enrich the taste of the meal.
  • Swiss cheese
It works amazingly with Roma tomato because it’s slightly sweetish and it brings a note of sweetness to the meal. Besides that, the nutty flavor of Swiss cheese will bring the Marry Me Meatballs recipe to the next level.
  • Tomato paste
It will give another note of tomato taste to the Marry Me Meatballs, and it will add to the taste of Roma tomato.
  • Heavy cream
It will make Marry Me Meatballs creamy and combine the flavors together.
  • Nutmeg
Nutty and earthy aroma will bring a delicious taste to the meatballs.
  • Thyme
The slightly bitter tone of the thyme will emphasize the sweet taste of Roma tomato and Swiss cheese.
  • Sage
The sage’s slightly peppery taste will balance the sweet flavors of Roma tomato and Swiss cheese.
  • Oregano
The earthy and a bit bitter taste of oregano will contribute to balancing and emphasizing the sweet taste of Roma tomato and Swiss cheese.
  • Basil
It will connect the sweet and savory taste of ingredients, and bring the flavors together.
  • Parsley flakes
Combine all the flavors together and enrich them.
  • Salt – for enriching the taste.
  • Freshly cracked pepper – for giving spiciness to the meal (if you don’t like spicy, or you can’t eat pepper you can omit it – it will not affect the meal).

How to make Marry Me Meatballs?

1.

Mix ground meat with nutmeg, parsley flakes, salt, and pepper. Using your hands, mix the ingredients until combined. Shape the meatballs to the size of a golf ball. Put the meatballs on the plate, so you can easily transfer meatballs into the pot.

2.
Chopping tomato - From Dora's Kitchen

Cut Roma tomato into medium size cubes. You can do this step while you are waiting for the meatballs to cook.

3.

Add the oil to a pot and heat over medium heat. When the oil gets hot, add meatballs to the pot and cook them until they get a golden brown color. Flip the meatballs while cooking so they can cook equally on all sides. Be careful not to burn the meatballs.

4.

When the meatballs are cooked, add heavy cream, and Roma tomato cubes. Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes with occasional gentle stirring. Be gentle so that you will not break the meatballs and Roma tomato.

5.

Add tomato paste, dry sage, dry thyme, dry oregano, dry basil, parsley flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir the sauce and simmer it for another 5 minutes. Taste the sauce, and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

6.

In the end, add finely grated cheese, and stir it to combine. Serve No Allium Marry Me Meatballs with cooked pasta. For me, it works best with pasta, but it is delicious with rice too.

How to store Allium-free Marry Me Meatballs?

Store everything separately!

Refrigerator
You can store Marry Me Meatballs sauce in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
You can store pasta in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.

Freezer
I don’t recommend freezing Marry Me Meatballs because the texture of the sauce will change from smooth to grainy and it will not be tasty anymore.
You can store cooked pasta in an air-tight container for up to 2 months.

Garnish for this meal
Garnish can elevate how the food looks, and it can make it look more appetizing. However, garnish can be a spot where alliums are hiding. In this recipe, I garnished my plate with freshly chopped parsley.
