It will elevate the taste of the salad, and bring a dose of freshness to your meal. Choose your favorite lettuce, add some vegetables, drizzle no onion no garlic Mint Salad dressing, and enjoy!

Mint Salad Dressing is made with a few ingredients, and it is a flavorful choice for a gallbladder diet, or if you have problems with cholesterol. Besides that, it is made without onion and garlic, and a delicious option if you have a sensitive stomach or acid reflux.

Ingredients

  • Plain yogurt – you can use low fat or Greek Yogurt. If you have problems with gallstones, I suggest using low fat yogurt. If you like thick salad dressings, then use Greek yogurt because it is thicker than low fat yogurt, and it will bring thickness and extra creaminess to the salad dressing. If you follow LOW FODMAP, use Greek yogurt.
  • Dried mint – it provides a refreshing taste to the salad dressing
  • Ground cloves – they support the minty taste by providing a slightly sweet note to the salad dressing
  • Lemon juice – it provides a zesty flavor to the dressing, and it helps with digestion of the lettuce. If you don’t like lemon juice, you can substitute it with a splash of your favorite vinegar.
  • Granulated sugar – it provides a gentile sweet note the the dressing, and it helps enchanting mint flavor.
  • Salt – it enhances the flavors, and combines them all together.

Equipment

  • Whisk
  • Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mason jar
  • Spoon

How to store Homemade Mint Salad Dressing?

Refrigerator
Store the no oil salad dressing in a mason jar for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Freezer
I do not recommend freezing the homemade salad dressing because it will lose its texture (it will become very grainy, and not smooth), and it will taste good.

Prep: 5 minutes
Total: 5 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt 236ml
  • 4 teaspoons dried mint
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 pinches ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl add plain yogurt, dry mint, ground cloves, granulated sugar, salt, and lemon juice. Whisk together until smooth.
  • Taste the dressing, and add more salt or sugar if necessary.
  • Drizzle it over salad, and toss it.

Notes

  • You can use low fat plain yogurt if you have gallstones or have problems with cholesterol.

  • Instead of lemon juice, you can use a splash of vinegar. Be careful with vinegar because it is more intense than lemon juice, and just a few drops can be enough.

  • Use Greek Yogurt or lactose-free plain yogurt if you have IBS and follow LOW FODMAP diet.

  • If you like thick salad dressings, then use Greek yogurt.
